JOMA Sport was established in
Toledo Spain in 1965 with just 8 staff in a small factory
complex making football boots for sale in the local market.
In
the 39 years since then the JOMA brand has expanded
internationally with subsidiary offices in Germany, Mexico,
Panama, Hong Kong, Italy and the USA and has established
distribution arrangements in over 42 countries around the Globe,
including Australia since 2002.
The worldwide headquarters of JOMA is still in Toledo Spain but
the company now operates from a 65,000 square metre state of the
art facility that includes the latest production technology,
warehouse and distribution, design and research and development
facilities as well as showrooms and offices. JOMA now employs
over 1,000 people.
JOMA has always been a leader in
design trends for Football boots releasing its first
comprehensive colour range in 1988 under the marketing theme of
"Colour In Football" and endorsed in that year by a young
Fernando Morientes (Real Madrid, Spanish International). Even in
the early days JOMA was endorsed by leading Spanish Players such
as the legendary Real Madrid and Spanish International Striker
Emilio Butragueno. The JOMA brand is now endorsed by players
from around the world including Scott Parker (Chelsea FC &
England), Dennis Rommedahl (Charlton Athletic & Denmark) an many
more.
Over the years JOMA has developed
relationships with Clubs outside the Spanish League including
clubs in Italy, Belgium, Slovenia, Korea and South America. JOMA
is also the official team kit supplier to the National Soccer
teamnsof Costa Rica, Honduras and Nicaragua.
In 2004 the JOMA brand made its debut in the English Premier
League with Charlton Athletic FC
The JOMA brand is currently the #3 brand across Europe behind
Nike and Adidas in Football boots and a market leader in Club
and Team wear apparell and each year continues to become a
bigger player in the global sports brand market.
